Taner Alakuş'un sanat yaşamı ve bazı minyatürlerinin ikonoloji ve ikonografik açıdan incelenmesi (1990-2022)

Abstract

Köklü bir geçmişe ve geleneğe sahip olan minyatür sanatı günümüzde, tarihi sürecindeki söylemini değiştirmiştir. Bu çalışma kapsamında, minyatür sanatının klasik ve çağdaş anlamda geçirdiği dönüşüm, minyatür sanatçısı Taner Alakuş'un üretimleri ve güncel sanat pratiği üzerinden ele alınarak bir değerlendirmede bulunulmuştur. Sanat tarihinin minyatür sanatı hakkındaki tanım ve açıklamaları, zamanla bu kavramların bulanıklaşmasına sebep olarak kapsayıcı bir açıklama yapmada yetersiz kalmıştır. Yalnızca yazma eserleri açıklamak amacıyla yapılan resimler veya tarihi birer belge olma niteliğinden çok öte minyatür sanatı, özgün bir sanatsal ifade biçimi olarak bugün çağdaş sanat içerisinde yer bulmuş durumdadır. Bu doğrultuda güncel sanat pratiği içerisinde minyatür sanatı, artık Osmanlı dönemi veya öncesinde olduğu işlevinden bağımsız bir ifade biçimi haline gelmiştir. Bu tez çalışmasında minyatür sanatının üslup, biçim ve işlevsel dönüşümü Taner Alakuş'un çalışmalarının yenilikçi söylemi bağlamında düşünülerek tekrar ele alınmıştır. Erwin Panofsky'nin geliştirdiği, 'İkonografik ve İkonolojik Sanat Eleştirisi' kuramı temel alınarak, seçilen örnekler üzerinden sanatçının çalışmalarının sembolik ve alegorik anlamı tartışılmış, güncel minyatür sanatındaki yenilik ve değişimler saptanmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu bağlamda minyatür sanatının yenilenerek ve yenilikçi sanatçılarla varlığını sürdüreceği fakat yeni biçimsel ve terminolojik tanımlara ihtiyaç duyduğu belirlenmiştir.

Miniature art, which has a deep-rooted past and tradition, has changed its discourse in the historical process today. Within the scope of this study, the transformation of the art of miniature in the classical and contemporary sense, the productions of the miniature artist Taner Alakuş and his contemporary art practice were evaluated. The definitions and explanations of art history about the art of miniature were insufficient to make an inclusive explanation, causing these concepts to become blurred over time. More than just pictures made for the purpose of explaining manuscripts or being historical documents, the art of miniature has found its place in contemporary art today as an original form of artistic expression. In this direction, miniature art has become a form of expression independent of its function in the Ottoman period or before. In this thesis, the style, form and functional transformation of miniature art is reconsidered in the context of the innovative discourse of Taner Alakuş's works. Based on the theory of 'Iconographic and Iconological Art Criticism' developed by Erwin Panofsky, the symbolic and allegorical meaning of the artist's work was discussed through selected examples, and innovations and changes in contemporary miniature art were tried to be determined. In this context, it has been determined that the miniature art will continue to exist by being renewed and with innovative artists, but it needs new formal and terminological definitions.
