Sağlık bilimleri fakültesi öğrencilerinin kültürel zekâ ile kültürel duyarlılıkları arasındaki ilişki

Abstract

Bu araştırma, Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi öğrencilerinin kültürel zekâ ve kültürel duyarlılıkları arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemek amacıyla tanımlayıcı ve ilişki arayıcı olarak yapılmıştır. Araştırma İstanbul Medeniyet Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesinde 2021-2022 öğretim yılı bahar döneminde yapılmıştır.Evreni, belirtilen fakültede 2021-2022 eğitim ve öğretim yılı bahar döneminde öğrenim gören 1346 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Örneklem grubu seçimine gidilmeksizin evrenin tamamına ulaşılması amaçlanmış, 638 öğrenci ile çalışma tamamlanmıştır. Veriler, araştırmacı tarafından TanıtıcıBilgi Formu, Kültürel Zekâ Ölçeği ve KültürlerarasıDuyarlılık Ölçeği aracılığıyla online olarak toplanmıştır.Veriler sayı,yüzdelik dağılımlar, min-max değerler, ortalama, standart sapma, Mann Whitney U Test, Kruskal Wallis H Test,Spearman Korelasyon test ile analiz edilmiştir.Çalışmanın yapılabilmesi için etik kurul onayı ve kurum izni alınmıştır. Öğrencilerin Kültürel Zekâ Ölçeği puan ortalaması 93,30±18,99 bulunurken Kültürel Duyarlılık Ölçeği puan ortalaması 91,85±11,30 bulunmuştur. Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesinde okuyan öğrencilerin Kültürel Zekâ Ölçeği ile Kültürel Duyarlılık Ölçeği puan ortalamaları arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir (p<0.05). Cinsiyet, yaşamının büyük bölümünü geçirdiği yer, annenin eğitim durumu, babanın eğitim durumu, mesleğini seçme durumu, yabancı dil bilme durumu öğrencilerin Kültürel Zekâ Ölçeği puan ortalamalarını etkilediği belirlenmiştir (p<0.05). Cinsiyet, okuduğu bölüm, mesleğini seçme durumu, yabancı dil bilme durumu değişkenlerinin Kültürlerarası Duyarlılık Ölçeği puan ortalamalarını etkilediği saptanmıştır (p<0.05). Çalışmada öğrencilerin kültürel zekâ puan ortalamalarının orta ve kültürel duyarlılık puan ortalamalarının yüksek düzeyde olduğu bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin kültürel zekâ puanları arttıkça kültürel duyarlılık puanlarının da arttığı belirlenmiştir.

This research was conducted as a descriptive and relationship seeker to determine the relationship between cultural intelligence and cultural sensitivities of the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences. There search was carried out at the Faculty of Health Sciences of Istanbul Medeniyet University in the spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year. The universe consisted of 1346 students studying at the specified faculty in the spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year. It was aimed to reach the entire universe without going through the selection of the sample group, and the study was completed with 638 students. Data were collected online by the researcher through the Introductory Information Form, the Cultural Intelligence Scale, and the Intercultural Sensitivity Scale. Data were analyzed by number, percentile distribution, min max values, mean, Standard deviation, Mann Whitney U Test, Kruskal Wallis H Test, Spearman Correlation test. Ethics committee approval and institutional permission were obtained to conduct the study. While the students' Cultural Intelligence Scale mean score was 93.30±18.99, the Cultural Sensitivity Scale mean score was 91.85±11.30. A positive and significant relationship was found between the mean scores of the Cultural Intelligence Scale and the Cultural Sensitivity Scale of the students studying at the Faculty of Health Sciences (p<0.05). It was determined that gender, the place where he spent most of his life, mother's education level, father's education level, choosing a profession, and knowing a foreign language affected the mean score of the students' Cultural Intelligence Scale (p<0.05). It was determined that the variables of gender, department, choice of profession, and foreign language knowledge affected the mean scores of the Intercultural Sensitivity Scale (p<0.05). In the study, it was found that the students' cultural intelligence mean scores were moderate and their cultural sensitivity mean scores were high. It was determined that as the cultural intelligences cores of the students increased, their cultural sensitivity scores also increased.
