Modern Türk edebiyatında çerçeve anlatı

Abstract

Çerçeve anlatı, hikâye içinde bir veya birden fazla hikâyenin yer aldığı anlatım tekniğidir. Dıştaki hikâyeyle iç hikâyelerin birbiriyle bağlantılı olduğu eserlerin yanı sıra birbirinden bağımsız hikâyelerin bir araya getirildiği çerçeve anlatı örnekleri de mevcuttur. Asıl anlatılmak istenenin hikâyedeki konumlandırılışı da eserlerde birlik oluşturmaz. Doğu kaynaklı bir anlatım tekniği olan çerçeve anlatı, sözlü kültür dönemine dek uzanan bir geçmişe sahip olmakla birlikte orijinal dili Sanskritçe olan Hint metinlerinde ilk örneklerini verir. Varlığı bugüne taşınan çerçeve anlatı tekniğinin postmodernizmle modernize edildiği ve güncellendiği söylenebilir. Çalışmada söz konusu tekniğin tanımlanışının ardından çerçeve anlatıyı ifade etmek noktasında yaşanan kavram karmaşasına değinilmiştir. Ardından çerçeve anlatının oluşturulmasında hikâyelerin metnin tamamıyla oluşturduğu anlamsal bütünlük, hikâyelerin konumlandırılışı, anlatı düzeylerinde görülen farklılıklar, anlatıcının kim olduğu ve hikâyelerin hiyerarşik yapısı gibi kıstaslar doğrultusunda yapılan sınıflandırmalara yer verilmiştir. Anlatma, hikâye etme eylemine dayanan çerçeve anlatı tekniğinde anlatıcı meselesi anlatıbilim çalışmaları ışığında detaylandırılmıştır. Tekniğin eserden esere farklılık gösteren işlevleri ana hatlarıyla sınıflandırılmıştır. Çerçeve anlatının postmodernizm sonrasındaki yoğun kullanımı ve dönüşümü ele alınırken bahsi geçen tekniğin ilişkili olduğu veya karıştırıldığı metalepsis "düzey ihlali", mise en abyme "yavru anlatım" ve üstkurmaca kavramları ayrı başlıklar altında incelenmiştir. Doğu'da ve Batı'da çerçeve anlatı tekniğiyle oluşturulan ilk eserlerin tespitinin ardından eski Türk edebiyatından başlayarak modern Türk edebiyatındaki örneklere değinilmiştir. Modern Türk edebiyatının başlangıcından bugüne çerçeve anlatının gelişim seyrini gösterebilmek adına farklı dönemlerde edebiyat araştırmalarında ön plana çıkan eserler tercih edilmiştir. Çerçeve anlatının postmodernizm sonrası kullanımındaki işlevlerin çeşitliliği sebebiyle çalışmada Cumhuriyet sonrasındaki eserler daha geniş çapta incelenmiştir. Çerçeve anlatı tekniğiyle sadece öykü ve roman türünde karşılaşılmadığı iddiasıyla tiyatro ve şiir başlıkları da çalışmaya eklenmiştir.

A frame narrative is a narrative technique that involves one or more stories within a story. In addition to works where the outer and inner stories are interconnected, there are also examples of frame narratives where independent stories are brought together. The positioning of the main narrative within the story also lacks unity in the works. The frame narrative, a narrative technique of Eastern origin, has a history dating back to the oral culture period, but its earliest examples appear in Indian texts originally written in Sanskrit. It can be argued that the frame narrative technique, which has survived to the present day, has been modernized and updated by postmodernism. Following the definition of the technique in question, the study addresses the conceptual confusion surrounding the expression of frame narrative. The study then presents classifications based on criteria such as the semantic integrity of the stories within the entire text, the positioning of the stories, the differences observed in narrative levels, the identity of the narrator, and the hierarchical structure of the stories. The issue of the narrator in frame narrative technique, which is based on the act of narrating, is detailed in the light of narratological studies. The functions of the technique, which vary from work to work, are outlined. In examining the extensive use and transformation of frame narrative after postmodernism, the concepts of metalepsis, mise en abyme, and metafiction, with which the aforementioned technique is related or confused, are examined under separate headings. Following the identification of the first works created using frame narrative in both the East and the West, examples from modern Turkish literature are explored, starting with ancient Turkish literature. To illustrate the development of frame narrative from the beginnings of modern Turkish literature to the present, works prominent in literary studies from different periods are selected. Because of the diverse functions of the frame narrative in its post-postmodernist use, the study examined works from the post-Republic era more broadly. The study also included titles for theater and poetry, arguing that the frame narrative technique is not limited to short stories and novels.
