2019 yerel seçimlerinde seçmenlerin oy verme davranışı üzerine bir inceleme: İstanbul örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışma; 2019 yerel seçimlerinde İstanbul örneğinde seçmenlerin oy verme davranışı üzerine yapılan bir incelemedir. Seçmenlerin davranışlarını, oy verme psikolojilerini ve neye göre oy verdiklerini nicel yöntem kullanarak açıklamayı hedeflemektedir. Öncelikle dünyada ve Türkiye'de seçmenlerin oy verme eğilimlerinin neye göre olduğu, seçmenlerin sandık başında nasıl tutum sergilediği açıklanacaktır. Literatürde hali hazırda var olan ekollerden hangisinin Türk seçmeni için uygun olduğuna değinilecektir. Ardından seçmen davranışına etki eden unsurlara yer verilecektir. Çalışmanın uygulama bölümünde, seçmen tercihlerini belirlemeye yönelik anket uygulaması yapılmıştır. İstanbul ilinde ikamet eden farklı gelir grupları ve siyasi görüşlere sahip seçmenler örneklem olarak alınmıştır. İstanbul ili genelinde 18 yaşını doldurmuş 1000 kişi anket uygulamasına katılmış, anket verileriyle seçmenlerin oy verme eğilimleri incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada, örneklem grubuna yöneltilen soruların 11'i demografik bilgi almak amacıyla, 23'ü de oy verme davranışlarını ölçmek ve anlamak amacıyla hazırlanmıştır. Anket uygulaması SPSS programına aktarılmış ve sorular uygun testlerle analiz edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçları; seçmenlerin birçok değişkene göre oy verme tutumlarının değiştiğini göstermektedir. Kuşaklar arası tutum farkları açık bir şekilde görülmektedir. 18-24 yaş arası genç kitlenin seçim sonuçları üzerindeki etkisi oldukça fazladır. Genç nüfusun olumlu yönde verdikleri cevabın oranı fazla olsa da sosyal medyanın seçmenin kararı üzerinde sanıldığı etkisi yoktur.

This work; It is an examination of the voting behavior of the voters in the example of Istanbul in the 2019 local elections. This study aims to explain the behavior of the voters, their voting psychology and how they vote by using a quantitative method. First of all, it will be explained what the voting tendencies of the voters in the world and in Turkiye are and how the voters behave at the ballot box. It will be mentioned which of the existing schools in the literature is suitable for the Turkish electorate. Then, the factors affecting voter behavior will be included. In the application part of the study, a questionnaire was applied to determine the voter preferences. Voters from different income groups and political views residing in the province of Istanbul were taken as a sample. Across the province of Istanbul, 1000 people over the age of 18 participated in the survey, and it was tried to examine the voting tendencies of the voters with the survey data. In the study, 11 questions of the sample group were prepared in order to obtain demographic information, and 23 of them were prepared to measure and understand voting behaviors. The questionnaire application was transferred to the SPSS program and the questions were tried to be analyzed with appropriate tests. The results of the research; shows that voters' voting attitudes change according to many variables. Differences in attitudes between generations are clearly visible. The effect of the young population between the ages of 18-24 on the election results is quite high. Although the rate of positive response by the young population is high, social media has no effect on the voter's decision.
