This study aims to examine the architectural heritage in the travelogues of British travellers who visited the Ottoman Empire in the 19th century. Firstly, general information about travelogues is given, the formation of this concept and the contributions of western travellers to the concept, which are examined in this thesis, are mentioned. The research is based on a systematic scanning and classification of the data obtained from the travellers' travelogues. The travelogues of a total of nine British authors such as Edmund Spencer, Frederick Moore, Henry Fanshawe Tozer, William Miller, who travelled through Macedonia were examined in detail. Within the scope of this analysis, the travel routes of the travellers were determined and visualised on the map. The routes followed by the travellers of the period vary for many reasons such as geographical conditions, security, politics, etc. The reasons for this situation provide us with important data on historical processes. With the Ottoman Empire's domination in the Balkan region, socio-cultural differences have emerged. The fact that it maintained its presence here for a long time made it inevitable for it to make its own progress in architectural and cultural fields. Manastır, Ohrid, Skopje and Thessaloniki, which were on the route of a traveller who set out from Macedonia to Istanbul, were frequently mentioned in the travelogues of the period. The use of these routes played a role in the development of cultural and architectural heritage as well as the development of the cities connecting the route. Subsequently, the panoramas of the cities mentioned in these travelogues, the urban fabric and the important buildings mentioned were identified and included in the research. In addition, the portraits, engravings, biographies and photographs, if any, of the travellers were also investigated by scanning the sources. With the data obtained, the cultural and architectural richness of the 19th century Ottoman cities through the eyes of the travellers was revealed in detail. The main objective of the study is to evaluate the observations and narratives of British travellers about the Ottoman Empire and to present them to today's researchers in the light of historical sources.
