While the military operations of the Mongol Empire from China to Eastern Europe caused the majority of scientific studies on Mongolian history to focus on their military structures, studies on the trade of the period followed. The Mongol Empire's dominance of a wide geography and their emphasis of road safety in order not to allow a gap of authority over the cities increased the travels of clergy, diplomats and traders between Europe and Asia. Considering the Mongolian palace's keenness for consumption and shopping, and the desire to operate the gold and silver ingots accumulated in the treasury with the conquests, the edge of a new era was opened in trade after the Mongolian Invasion. For the first time, European historians began to examine the details of trade in the Mongol Empire in scientific content. The direct reason for this is that the new period in question opened up commercial facilities and opportunities to the Europe of that time. Nevertheless, although the Ilkhanids needed a separate analysis as a part of the Mongol Empire, generalizations over the analysis of European sources due to the dominance of the orientalist reflex necessitated new studies that should include the historical sources belonging to the Ilkhanid geography. During the Mongolian rule, the biggest problem of the state in Iran and its provinces was to redesign the revenues. During the Mongolian rule, the biggest problem of the state in Iran and its provinces was to redesign the revenues. Therefore, it is not very possible to talk about a liberal commercial order. In this sense, the fiscal policy towards trade and traders is one of the main factors shaping both domestic and foreign trade. Another factor is the political situation in the Middle East. Prolonged tensions with the Golden Horde and Mamluk States, authority gaps in Anatolia, conflicts between the Chagatai Khanate and the Hanbalik in Turkestan was another factor dominantly shaped the route of long-distance trade. Once the situation of Constantinople and the gradual escalation of the problems between Europe and Egypt are added to all these; the place, time and parties of the commercial organizations were determined. The rise and fall of trade during the 80-odd years of Ilkhanid State was determined by the compromise of the economic interests of the east and the west rather than the tolerance towards the nature of trade.
