Şehzade Korkud (1468-1513) ve Osmanlı Dünyası

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Sultan II. Bayezid’in oğullarından Şehzade Korkud’un siyasi ve entelektüel hayatını taht mücadelesi süreci ve âlim şehzade imajı bağlamında incelemektedir. Osmanlı tahtının doğal varislerinden biri olan Korkud, iktidar arayışında çeşitli stratejiler geliştirerek bu süreci entelektüel kimliği ile desteklemiş ve ortaya koyduğu siyasi manevraları kardeşleri Ahmed ve Selim’den farklı bir yol ile şekillendirmiştir. Çalışma 5 bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde Şehzade Korkud’un ilk yılları ve çevresi ele alınarak doğumu, çocukluğu, eğitimi, hocaları, hanesi, çocukları, 1481 senesinde dedesi II. Mehmed yerine naib olarak tahta çıkması ve veraset mücadelelerinin arka planı ele alınmıştır. İkinci bölümde, Şehzade Korkud’un sancakbeyliği dönemleri ve siyasi faaliyetleri Manisa ve Antalya Sancakbeyliği dönemleri çerçevesinde incelenmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde Şehzade Korkud’un Rodos Şövalyeleri ve Deniz gazileri – Korsanlar ile arasındaki ilişkiler ortaya konulmuştur. Dördüncü bölüm ise mücadele dönemlerinin ayrıntılarını içermekte olup Korkud, Ahmed ve Selim’in taht mücadelesi sürecindeki siyasi manevralarını ele almaktadır. Beşinci ve son bölüm ise, Şehzade Korkud’un entelektüel portresini eserleri bağlamında inceleyerek, fikir dünyası, dini görüşleri, din ve siyaset faktörlerini izahı ve estetik ve anlam içeren yazım dünyasını içermektedir.

This study examines the political and intellectual life of Prince Korkud (1468-1513), one of the sons of Bayezid II, within the context of the struggle for the throne and the intellectual image of the prince. As a natural heir to the Ottoman throne, Korkud developed various strategies in his quest for power, supporting this process with his intellectual identity and shaping his political maneuvers differently from his brothers Ahmed and Selim. The study consists of five chapters. The first chapter focuses on Korkud's early years, addressing his birth, childhood, education, teachers, household, children, his ascent to the throne as regent in 1481 following his grandfather Mehmed II, and the background of succession disputes. The second chapter analyzes Korkud's political activities during his terms as the governor of Manisa and Antalya. The third chapter explores Korkud's relationships with the Knights of Rhodes and maritime raiders. The fourth chapter details the political maneuvers of Korkud, Ahmed, and Selim during the struggle for the throne. The fifth and final chapter examines the intellectual portrait of Şehzade Korkud in the context of his works, explaining the world of ideas, religious views, religion and political factors, and the world of writing that includes aesthetics and meaning.
