Attitudes towards mathematics and music of fourth grade students

Özet
This study is based on a survey of fourth grade students’ attitudes towards mathematics and music, as well as the relationship between mathematics and music. The participants for this descriptive study included 160 students at fourth grade enrolled two different public primary schools in the spring semester of 2015-2016. The mathematics attitudes scale developed by Baykul (1990) and the music attitudes scale developed by Öztürk and Kalyoncu (2014) were used to determine attitudes. Cronbach’s Alpha coefficients of these two instruments were calculated with SPSS 15.00 as.94 for mathematics and.95 for music in the current study. Students have positive attitude towards mathematics and music. © The Turkish Online Journal of Educational Technology.
