Stoma-Related Surgical Emergencies

Abstract

Stoma is a frequent surgical necessity in both elective and emergency general surgery, including colon, rectal surgery, and in cancer conditions. In this chapter, early (less than 2 weeks) and late (more than 2 weeks) stoma-related complications will be addressed with discussion of methods to mitigate such complications. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.
