dc.description.abstract2011 Syrian civil war caused a large migration flow and a mass influx to the West along with neighboring countries. While temporary protection mechanism activated in Turkiye, the European Union (EU) has not take a decision on EU level, asylum seekers have been left to the discretion of the countries. Consequently, quite a few asylum seekers have been admitted to the EU. The EU activated the temporary protection directive for Ukrainian asylum seekers by taking quick and solution-oriented decisions at the union level after Russian invasion on Ukraine in February 2022. This study examines the EU asylum policies on the displaced asylum seekers after the 2011 Syrian civil war and the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 on the basis of the prohibition of discrimination.
