TÜRKİYE'DE SOSYOLOJİK DÜŞÜNCENİN DOĞUŞU: DÜŞÜNÜRLER, DÜŞÜNCE ÇEVRELERİ VE İLİŞKİLER

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Darülfûnun Sosyoloji Kürsüsünün 1915 kurulmasıyla sosyolojinin bir disiplin olarak kurumsallaşmasından önce Türkiye'de sosyolojik bilgi üretimini tarihsel ve siyasal bağlamda analiz etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmada dönemin siyasal ve toplumsal arka planı ile sosyolojik düşüncenin geliştiği düşünce çevreleri ve düşünürler arasındaki örgütlenme ve ilişki biçimleri birlikte ele alınacaktır. Türkiye'de sosyolojik düşüncenin doğduğu evrede hedefi “memleketi kurtarmak” olan farklı sosyolojik perspektiflere sahip düşünce çevreleri arasında yoğun bir siyasi mücadele yaşanmıştır. Mücadelenin tarafları çoğu kez siyasi gerekçelerle sosyolojiyi araçsallaştırırken, sosyolojinin gelişimine de zemin hazırlamış ve gelişim çizgisini belirlemiştir. Bu çerçevede çalışmada; öncelikle 19. yüzyılda sosyolojik düşünceye giden yolu açan gelişmeler ele alınmış ardından sosyolojik düşüncenin gelişim çizgisi 1908 öncesi dönem, 1908-1912 yılları arası ve 1912 sonrası olmak üzere üç dönemde değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak sosyolojik düşüncenin gelişiminde kişisel çabalardan ziyade kolektif çabaların ve güçlü örgütlenmelerin etkili olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca örgütlenme ve ilişki biçimlerinin izi sürüldüğünde merkezinde Ziya Gökalp'in bulunduğu bir ilişkiler ağının ortaya çıktığı görülmüştür.

This study aims to analyze the production of sociological knowledge in Turkey in historical and political contexts before the institutionalization of Sociology as a discipline with the establishment of the Sociological Chair at Darülfûnun 1915 . The study discusses the political and social background of the period, and the forms of organization and relation among intellectual circles and thinkers together. The intellectual circles with various sociological perspectives that revolved around the main objective of “saving the Ottoman Empire” determined the future development of sociology in the political and intellectual context of the period. In this framework, the developments that paved the way for the emergence of sociological thought in the 19th century were first discussed, and the development of sociological thought before 1908, between 1908 and 1912, and after 1912 was then explored. Therefore, it was determined that collective efforts and strong organizations were more influential in the development of sociological thought than personal efforts. Furthermore, when the forms of organizations and relations were traced, Ziya Gökalp was found at the center of the network of relations.
