Empowering the school administrator: The ambiguous role of academia

Abstract

In this issue, we addressed academia's responsibility to strengthen schools and school management. In this editorial, I questioned whether empowering schools and school administrators is an academic responsibility. Taking a critical approach, I examined academia's engagement in the field of education management through research, publication, and community service, aiming to reveal existing gaps in practical application, policy impact, and direct support to schools. I emphasized the need for academia to enhance its role in empowering educational institutions and school administrators, as well as in bridging theory with practice.

Bu sayıda akademinin, okulu ve okul yönetimini güçlendirme sorumluluğunu ele aldık. Bu editör yazımda, okulları ve okul yöneticilerini güçlendirmenin akademik bir sorumluluk olup olmadığını sorguladım. Eğitim yönetimi alanında akademinin araştırma, yayın ve topluma hizmet yoluyla olan katılımını eleştirel bir yaklaşımla inceleyerek, uygulama pratiğinde, politika etkisinde ve okullara doğrudan destek sağlanmasında mevcut boşlukları ortaya koymaya çalıştım. Akademinin eğitim kurumlarını ve okul yöneticilerini güçlendirme ve teoriyi uygulama ile birleştirme konusundaki rolünü geliştirmesi gerektiğine işaret ettim.
