İbn Sînâ'nın doğa felsefesinde etki ve edilgi

Abstract

Bu çalışma, İbn Sînâ'nın doğa felsefesinde "etki" (fiil) ve "edilgi" (infiâl) kavramlarını, özellikle Kitâbu'ş-Şifâ? külliyatının bir parçası olan el-Ef?âl ve'l-infi?âlât (Etkiler ve Edilgiler) adlı eseri ekseninde incelemektedir. Araştırmanın temel amacı, İbn Sînâ'nın Aristotelesçi mirası nasıl tevarüs edip dönüştürdüğünü, etki ve edilgi prensiplerini kendi felsefi sistemi içinde nasıl özgün bir şekilde temellendirdiğini ve bu prensipler aracılığıyla ay-altı âlemdeki fiziksel oluş ve bozuluş süreçlerini nasıl açıkladığını ortaya koymaktır. Tezin birinci bölümü, İbn Sînâ'nın el-Ef?âl ve'l-infi?âlât eserinin arka planını oluşturan Aristoteles'in Meteôrologika IV adlı metninin Antik Çağ'dan İslam dünyasına uzanan serüvenini ele almakta; Yû?annâ b. Bıtrî?'in tercümesi ve İbn Sînâ'nın bu metni kendi sistematiği içinde yeniden konumlandırması üzerinde durmaktadır. İkinci bölüm, etki ve edilgi kavramlarının İbn Sînâ'nın Kategoriler'indeki mantıksal analizinden başlayarak, bu kavramların ontolojik temellerini oluşturan etkin (kuvâ fa?âle) ve edilgin (kuvâ infi?âlî) güçler teorisini incelemekte ve tezin odak noktasını oluşturan cisimler arası etkileşimlere zemin hazırlamaktadır. Üçüncü bölüm, İbn Sînâcı tabiat tasavvurunun ana hatlarını çizerek, dört unsurun (ateş, hava, su, toprak) katmanlı kozmolojik düzenini, temel niteliklerin (sıcaklık, soğukluk, yaşlık, kuruluk) bu düzen içindeki rollerini ve bu niteliklerin etkileşiminden doğan te?â?ub (niteliklerin art arda gelmesi) ve tezâyüd (cismin büyüklüğüyle etkisinin artması) gibi teorik problemlere İbn Sînâ'nın getirdiği özgün çözümleri ve sayısız fiziksel sürecin ayrıntılı tasnifini sunmaktadır. Dördüncü ve son analiz bölümü ise, nitelikler teorisinin bir sonucu ve İbn Sînâcı oluş anlayışının kilit taşı olan mizaç teorisine odaklanmaktadır. Bu bölümde mizacın, unsurların etkileşimiyle oluşan ve maddeyi türsel sureti kabule hazır (isti'dâd) hale getiren bir nitelik olduğu; duyulur nitelikler ve özel güçlerin (hâssa) ise Suret Verici'nin (Vâhibu's-Suver) bu hazır maddeye feyezanıyla ortaya çıktığı açıklanmakta ve semavi cisimlerin mizaçlar üzerindeki kozmolojik etkisi incelenmektedir. Bu tez, İbn Sînâ'nın etki ve edilgi prensiplerini, fiziksel dünyanın oluşum ve işleyişini açıklayan, ontolojik, fiziksel ve kozmolojik boyutları olan bütüncül bir sistemin merkezine yerleştirdiğini ve bu yolla Aristotelesçi doğa felsefesini hem sürdürdüğünü hem de onu aşan özgün bir nazariye geliştirdiğini göstermektedir. This study examines the concepts of "action" (fi?l) and "passion" (infi??l), with a particular focus on Ibn S?n?'s work al-Af??l wa-l-infi??l?t (On Actions and Passions), a part of the Kit?b al-Shif?? corpus. The primary aim of this research is to elucidate how Ibn S?n? inherited and transformed the Aristotelian natural philosophy legacy, how he originally grounded the principles of action and passion within his philosophical system, and how he explained the processes of generation and corruption in the sublunary realm through these principles. The first chapter of the thesis traces the intricate journey of Aristotle's Meteorologica IV, which forms the background to Ibn S?n?'s al-Af??l wa-l-infi??l?t, from Antiquity to the Islamic world, focusing on the translation by Ya?y? ibn al-Bı?r?q and Ibn S?n?'s reconceptualization of this text within his systematic framework. The second chapter begins with a logical analysis of the concepts of action and passion in Ibn S?n?'s Categories, then investigates the theory of active (quw? fa??la) and passive (quw? infi??l?) powers that form the ontological basis of these concepts, thereby preparing the ground for the study of interactions between corporeal entities, which is the main focus of the thesis. The third chapter outlines the Ibn S?n?ian conception of nature, detailing the hierarchical and layered cosmological order of the four elements (fire, air, water, earth), the role of primary qualities (hotness, coldness, wetness, dryness) within this order, and Ibn S?n?'s original solutions to theoretical problems such as ta??qub (succession of qualities) and taz?yud (augmentation of effect with the size of the body), alongside a detailed classification of numerous physical processes. The fourth and final analytical chapter focuses on the theory of temperament (miz??), a cornerstone of Ibn S?n?ian thought on generation and a consequence of the theory of qualities. This chapter explains that miz?? is a quality resulting from the interaction of elements, rendering matter prepared (isti?d?d) to receive a specific substantial form; it further clarifies that sensible qualities and particular properties (????a) arise through the emanation from the Giver of the Forms (W?hib al-?uwar) upon this prepared matter, and examines the cosmological influence of celestial bodies on temperaments. In conclusion, this thesis demonstrates that Ibn S?n? places the principles of action and passion at the centre of a comprehensive system explaining the formation and functioning of the physical world, a system possessing logical, ontological, physical, and cosmological dimensions. Through this, he not only continued the Aristotelian tradition of natural philosophy but also developed an original theory that transcended it.
