Propaganda Style of Fetihname Poets

Abstract

This article aims to identify the propaganda style of the fetihname poets. For this purpose, after giving preliminary information about the poetical fetihnames, the known examples of which are within the scope of the 16? ? century, the propaganda used by the fetihname poets in their works will be analyzed. In the analysis, the propagandas frequently used by the fetihname poets and some of them applied uniquely, will be grouped and explained as items. While making explanations, comparisons will also be made with historical researches that provide information on the subject or with another poetical fetihname dealing with the same subject in order to identify some propaganda. After the analysis and explanations, those who stand out among the fetihname poets with the variety of propaganda they apply or with their unique propaganda practices will be mentioned. Since the belief values of the societies living in the places mentioned in the fetihnames varied according to the regions, the propaganda practiced by the poets also varied. Moreover, in the case of the Yemen expedition, it was observed that two fetihname poets describing the same expedition presented different perspectives on the success of the conquests according to their patrons. These opportunities will be important for the findings to set an inclusive example for related studies.

Bu makalede fetihname şairlerinin propaganda üslubunun tespit edilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu amaçla, bilinen örnekleri 16. yüzyıl kapsamında kalan manzum fetihnameler hakkında ön bilgi verildikten sonra fetihname şairlerinin eserlerinde uyguladıkları propagandalar incelenecektir. İncelemede, fetihname şairlerinin sıklıkla başvurduğu ve bazılarının kendine has olarak yer verdiği propagandalar maddeler hâlinde gruplandırılıp açıklanacaktır. Açıklamalar yapılırken bazı propagandaların tespiti için konuyla ilgili bilgi veren tarihî kaynaklar veya aynı konuyu işleyen başka bir manzum fetihnameyle mukayeseler de yapılacaktır. Yapılan inceleme ve açıklamaların ardından fetihname şairlerinden uyguladığı propaganda çeşitliliğiyle ya da kendine has propaganda uygulamalarıyla öne çıkanlar belirtilecektir. Fetihnamelerde bahsi geçen yerlerde yaşayan toplumların inanç değerleri bölgelere göre çeşitlilik arz ettiğinden, şairlerin uyguladıkları propagandalar da çeşitlilik göstermiştir. Bu imkân, varılan tespitlerin ilgili çalışmalar için kapsayıcı bir örnek oluşturması açısından önem arz edecektir.
