Özet
Kant's distinction between general and transcendental logic, the latter of which constitutes a large part of his theoretical philosophy, has led to one of the most important debates about the relationship between logic and metaphysics in modern philosophy. Influenced by Maimon's and Reinhold's criticisms of Kant, Fichte attempts to distinguish metaphysics (in his own words, the Doctrine of Science) and logic from each other and thereby specify their relationship. The primacy of form over content, which can be detected in Kant, becomes in Fichte the primacy of philosophy over logic, for according to the latter philosopher, logic is conditioned by the content provided by philosophy.
