This four?arm randomized controlled trial evaluates the early effects of short?term digital interventions (SMS reminders, video content and their combination) on body composition parameters in adults with obesity. Between January and March 2024, 96 adults (BMI ?30 kg/m²) at Göztepe Prof. Dr. Süleyman Yalçın City Hospital were randomized into four groups: (1) control, (2) video, (3) SMS, and (4) video+SMS. Interventions lasted 3 months. Body composition(weight, body mass index, fat mass, body fat percentage) was assessed pre? and post?intervention using Tanita. Statistical analyses included paired t?tests, Wilcoxon tests, and ANOVA/Kruskal–Wallis tests. At the end of the intervention, a statistically significant decrease was observed in body mass index (BMI) (from 36.42 kg/m² to 36.11 kg/m²; p = 0.045) and body fat percentage (from 39.44% to 39.30%; p = 0.032). In addition, the video+SMS combination group showed a significantly greater reduction in body weight, BMI, and fat mass compared to the other groups (p = 0.017; p = 0.019; p = 0.021). Subgroup analyses revealed that participants with a history of childhood obesity experienced greater reductions in BMI and body weight compared to those without such a history (p = 0.045 and p = 0.036). Digital interventions yield early improvements in BMI and body fat percentage. Multichannel (video+SMS) and interactive, longer?term designs are recommended for sustained weight loss.
