Examining Stakeholder Views on What to Do in Primary Schools After the Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic causes problems in various fields. One of these areas is primary schools. In this study, it was aimed to determine the opinions of parents, classroom teachers, and academicians about what can be done after the pandemic in primary schools. The research was designed with the phenomenological pattern, one of the qualitative research methods. The data were obtained by interviewing the participants via Zoom with a semi-structured interview form and analysed by content analysis. Findings obtained from the research are divided into two themes as responsibilities and arrangements. The institution to which stakeholders attribute the most responsibility is the state. It is believed that each and every child's access to lessons should be ensured first with the infrastructure and technical equipment. It is stated that the second role is played by the parents, with the participation of primary school students in the lesson from home. Under the arrangements sub-theme, all stakeholders agree on the idea that education should be re-planned for the post-pandemic period. These regulations; digital competence, course designs, interdisciplinary approaches, planning of teaching. Especially classroom teachers and academicians emphasize that teacher training should be provided to all teachers by supporting it with techno-pedagogical elements.
