Özet

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) can cause mortality in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) positive patients and can also accelerate the progression of the disease leading to the development of AIDS. Concurrent antiretroviral (ART) and anti-tuberculosis treatment increases the risk of drug interactions. Polypharmacy decreases the compliance of the patient to medication. Both diseases also increase immunosuppression. Due to these factors, combination of HIV positivity and TB is important. In this case report, a patient who was followed up because of HIV positivity, and, applied to our hospital with constitutional symptoms, and then diagnosed as pulmonary TB was presented. Clinical course of HIV-positive patients should be monitored closely and their radiological changes should be carefully evaluated for TB. © 2017, Logos Medical Publishing. All rights reserved.
