The Mediator Role of Interfaith Spirituality and Will to Exist, Live, and Survive in the Relationship Between Emotion Regulation Strategies and Posttraumatic Growth

Özet

The purpose of this study was to test the mediating role of spirituality and the will to exist, live, and survive in the relationship between emotion regulation and posttraumatic growth. A total of 420 participants (304 females, 113 males) contributed to the study. The results yielded that cognitive reappraisal of emotion regulation and posttraumatic growth have significantly positive relationships with spirituality and the will to exist, live, and survive, while suppression has significantly negative correlations with the will to exist, live, and survive. Furthermore, there was a significant mediating role between spirituality and the will to exist, live, and survive in the relationship between cognitive reappraisal of emotion regulation and posttraumatic growth.
