Asturias Krallığı'nın doğuşu ve Vizigot Krallığı'ndan Asturias Krallığı'na soy devamlılığı problemi

Abstract

Asturias Krallığı (718-910), 718 yılında Müslümanlara karşı yapılan ve Müslümanların mağlubiyetiyle sonuçlanan Covadonga Savaşı'nın ardından kurulmuştur. 711 yılında başlayan Müslüman fethinden önce İber Yarımadası'nın büyük bir kısmı Vizigot Krallığı'nın hakimiyeti altındaydı. Asturias Krallığı, Vizigot Krallığı'nın yıkılmasının ardından yarımadada kurulan ilk Hristiyan Krallık olması bakımından önem taşımaktadır. İber Yarımadası'ndaki Müslüman hakimiyetine karşı ilk ciddi adımlar da Asturias Krallığı tarafından atılmıştır. Krallık, 9. yüzyılın sonlarına doğru etkisini ve gücünü artırmıştır. 9. yüzyılın sonlarında Asturias Krallığı'nda yazılan kronikler ise Vizigot Krallığı'ndan Asturias Krallığı'na bir devamlılık ortaya koymaktadırlar. Anonim olarak yazılan kronikler Asturias Krallığı içerisinde oluşturulduğu için bu kronikler tartışılmaya açıktır. Yazılan kroniklerin belirli bir ideoloji çerçevesinde oluşturuldukları dikkate alındığında ve çağdaş dönem kaynakları göz önünde bulundurulduğunda bu devamlılık meselesi tartışma yaratmaktadır. Tezimizin amacı, Erken Ortaçağ İspanya tarihi alanında Asturias Krallığı'nın önemini vurgulamak ve gelecek çalışmalara katkı sağlamaktır. Bu çalışmada 9. yüzyılın sonlarında Asturias Krallığı'nda yazılan kronikler çerçevesinde Asturias Krallığı'nın doğuşu, Vizigot Krallığı'ndan Asturias Krallığı'na soy devamlılığı problemi ve Asturias Krallığı özelinde İber Yarımadası'nda meydana gelen belli başlı olaylar ele alınacaktır. Böylece bu konu üzerine daha sonra yapılacak çalışmalara katkı sağlanması hedeflenmektedir.

The Kingdom of Asturias (718-910) was founded after the Battle of Covadonga against the Muslims in 718, which resulted in the defeat of the Muslims. Before the Muslim conquest, which began in 711, most of the Iberian Peninsula was under the rule of the Visigoth Kingdom. The Kingdom of Asturias was the first Christian Kingdom established on the peninsula after the collapse of the Visigoth Kingdom. The first important steps against the Muslim domination in the Iberian Peninsula were taken by the Kingdom of Asturias. The Kingdom increased its influence and power towards the end of the 9th century. Chronicles written in the Kingdom of Asturias at the end of the 9th century claim a continuity between the Visigoth Kingdom and the Kingdom of Asturias. Anonymous chronicles are open the discussion since they were produced within the Kingdom of Asturias. Considering that the chronicles were written within the framework of a certain ideology and when contemporary sources are taken into account, this issue of continuity leads to a great controversy. The aim of this thesis is to emphasize the importance of the Kingdom of Asturias in the field of Early Medieval Spanish history and to contribute to future studies. In this study, within the framework of the chronicles written in the Kingdom of Asturias at the end of the 9th century, the birth of the Kingdom of Asturias, the problem of lineage continuity between the Visigoth Kingdom and the Kingdom of Asturias and the main events that took place in the Iberian Peninsula during the reign of the Kingdom of Asturias will be discussed. Thus, the basic aim of this study is to contribute to increase of future studies on Early Medieval Spanish history.
