Özet

One of the models, which has long been applied in private sector later to be borrowed by the public sector with the notion of New Public Management is performance management. In addition to efficient, effective, and economic service provision, performance management has a major role in meeting the expectations and demands of citizens as well as putting the principles of quality, openness, accountability and equity into practice. Health sector is a field affected by performance management practices. This research was conducted in six hospitals affiliated to the Ministry of Health in order to explore, the effects of individual factors on views of health staffs about performance management. The data collected in the course of the research were evaluated by the one-way ANOVA analysis, along with descriptive analyses. The findings show that health employees have mostly negative views about performance management.
