Mezopatamya matematiksel astronomisinde gezegen-periyot ilişkileri ve hesaplama sistemleri

Abstract

Bu tez çalışmasının amacı Mezopotamya (özellikle Babil) matematiksel astronomisinin temel iki başarısı olan gezegen-periyot ilişkisi ve hesaplama sistemlerinin özelliklerini ayrıntılı bir biçimde ortaya koymaktır. Bu amaçla, gezegen-periyot ilişkisi detaylı bir şekilde incelenmiş ve sonuçları modern değerler ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Hesaplama sistemleri analiz edilirken literatürde çok fazla çalışılmamış tabletler tercih edilmiştir. Modern dönemde ortaya çıkarılan ilişkiler farklı metotlar kullanılarak elde edilmiş ve konuya farklı bir zaviyeden bakmaya gayret edilmiştir. Ayrıca, söz konusu astronominin kendisinden sonra gelen astronomi çalışmalarına olan etkilerine de değinilmiştir.

The aim of this thesis, the features of planet-period relationship and computation sytems, as the two main achievements of Mesopotamian (especially Babylonian) mathematical astronomy, to reveal in detail. For this purpose, the planet-period relationship were examined in detail and the results were compared with modern values. When analyzing computation systems cuneiform texts that not studied too much, preferred. Relationships that revealed in modern era, obtained using different methods, and have been trying to approach with a different perspective to the subject. In addition, the effects of this astronomy to the subsequent astronomy works also mentioned.
