Öğretmen Adaylarının Sosyalleşme Sürecinde Sosyal Medyanın Rolüne İlişkin Görüşleri

Abstract

Bu çalışmada eğitim fakültesi öğretmen adayları görüşlerine göre sosyalleşme sürecinde sosyal medyanın rolü incelenmiştir. Nitel araştırma yaklaşımının kullanıldığı bu çalışmada, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi’nde birinci sınıfta öğrenim gören, zorunlu dersler arasında yer alan Eğitim Sosyolojisi dersini alan öğretmen adaylarından gönüllü olanlarla görüşme yapılmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarına sosyalleşme sürecinde sosyal medyanın rolü, olumlu ve olumsuz yönleri, kültüre ve Türkçeye katkıları sorulmuştur. Medya okuryazarlığı dersi ile ilgili görüşlerine başvurulmuştur. Elde edilen veriler içerik analizine tabi tutularak sonuçlar sunulmuştur. Çalışmada ulaşılan sonuçlardan bazıları şunlardır: Öğretmen adaylarının üçte ikisinden fazlası sosyal medyada sosyalleşme olduğuna tamamen katılmaktadır. Sosyal medyanın en önemli faydaları hızlı bilgi akışı ve daha kolay iletişimdir. Sosyal medyanın önde gelen zararları arasında cep telefonu-internet-sosyal medya bağımlılığı ve konuşamayan ama yazan gençlik sorunu bulunmaktadır. Katılımcıların yaklaşık beşte dördü sosyal medyada Türkçe kullanımının bozulduğu görüşüne tamamen katılmaktadır. Katılımcıların yaklaşık dörtte üçünden fazlası sosyal medya yoluyla kültürümüzün bozulduğu görüşündedir. Katılımcıların üçte ikisinden fazlası medya okuryazarlığı dersinin kısmen çözüm olabileceğini düşünmekte, dersin ortaokul ve lisede yer alması gerektiğini belirtmektedir. Türkçenin yazım dilinin bozulması ile ilgili sosyal medyada somut kullanımı örneklerine oldukça fazla rastlanılmıştır. Bu çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçların hem öğretmen adaylarına hem de ilgililere bir farkındalık oluşturması beklenmektedir.

In this study, the role of social media in the socialization process was examined according to the views of the education faculty teacher candidates. In this study, in which the qualitative research approach was used, interviews were conducted with volunteer teacher candidates who took the Sociology of Education course, which is one of the compulsory courses and studying at the Faculty of Education of Recep Tayyip Erdogan University. Teacher candidates were asked about the role of social media in the socialization process, its positive and negative aspects, and its contributions to culture and Turkish. His views on the media literacy course were consulted. The obtained data were subjected to content analysis and the results were presented. Some of the results reached in the study are as follows: More than two-thirds of teacher candidates fully agree that there is socialization in social media. The most important benefits of social media are fast information flow and easier communication. Among the leading harms of social media are mobile phone-internet-social media addiction and the problem of youth who cannot speak but write. About four-fifths of the participants completely agree with the view that the use of Turkish in social media has deteriorated. More than three quarters of the participants think that our culture is being corrupted through social media. More than two-thirds of the participants think that the media literacy course can be partly the solution and state that the course should be included in secondary and high school. There are many examples of concrete usage in social media regarding the deterioration of the written language of Turkish. It is expected that the results obtained from this study will raise awareness for both prospective teachers and those concerned.
