Yükseköğretim yurt öğrencilerinin gösterdiği hizmetkar liderlik davranışlarıyla öğrencilşerin yurt hizmetlerinden memnuniyetleri arasındaki ilişki

Abstract

Hizmet sektöründe önemli bir yeri olan yükseköğretim öğrenci yurtlarında öğrenci memnuniyeti tesis etmek için, alışılagelmiş yöneticilik anlayışından ziyade öğrenci memnuniyetini dikkate alan ve bu doğrultuda yönetim politikası oluşturarak takım çalışmasına önem veren, aidiyet duygusunu geliştiren, güven ortamı oluşturan bir liderliğe, yani hizmetkâr liderliğe gereksinim duyulduğu söylenebilir. Yükseköğretim öğrenci yurtlarının sektörde var olabilmesi için ilgili kişilerin öğrencilerin taleplerini ve görüşlerin dikkate alan hizmetlerin ve bir yönetim anlayışının oluşturması gerekmektedir. Dolayısıyla yükseköğretim öğrenci yurtlarında istenen öğrenci memnuniyetinin sağlanabilmesi için gerekli liderlik tarzları ve özellikle hizmetkâr liderliğe ilişkin bilimsel araştırmaların yapılması önemli bir ihtiyaçtır. Bu ihtiyacın giderilmesine katkı sağlamak için yükseköğretim yurt yöneticilerinin göstermiş olduğu hizmetkâr liderlik davranışlarıyla öğrencilerin yurt hizmetlerinden memnuniyetini arasındaki ilişkinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla yükseköğretim yurdunda kalan öğrencilerin görüşlerine başvurarak, yurt yöneticisin hizmetkâr liderlik davranışları ve yurt hizmetlerinden memnuniyeti arasındaki ilişkiyi farklı değişkenler aracılığıyla incelenmiştir. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemi ve ilişki arayıcı araştırma modeli kullanılmıştır. Amaçsal örnekleme yönteminden yararlanılarak özel bir vâkıfa ait yükseköğretim öğrenci yurdu örnekleminde, anket yöntemiyle veri toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler bilgisayar ortamında SPPS programı kullanılarak, katılımcıların vermiş oldukları cevaplara ilişkin dağılımları, aritmetik ortalamaları ve standart sapmalarıyla ve parametrik olmayan testlerden Mann Whitney U Testi, Kruskal-Wallis Testi ve korelasyon analizleri yapılarak veriler analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, kişisel değişkenlere göre katılımcıların hem yöneticinin hizmetkâr liderlik davranışları hem de yurttan memnuniyetlerinde ağırlıklı olarak anlamlı bir farklılığa rastlanmamış; yükseköğretim yurt yöneticilerin gösterdiği hizmetkâr liderlik davranışlarıyla yurttan duyulan memnuniyet arasında kuvvetli, pozitif yönlü ve anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

To establish student satisfaction in the higher education student dormitories, which have an important place in the service sector, there is a need for leadership, that is, a servant leadership, which takes satisfaction into account rather than the traditional management approach, gives importance to teamwork, creates a management policy in this direction, develops a sense of belonging and creates an environment of trust. For higher education dormitories to exist in the sector, it is necessary to create a management approach and services that fulfil the demands of the students and consider their opinions. Therefore, it is an important need to carry out detailed scientific research on this subject to ensure the desired student satisfaction in higher education student dormitories. To meet this need, it is aimed to investigate the satisfaction of the students from the dormitory services with the servant leadership behaviors of the higher education dormitory administrators. For this purpose, the relationship between the servant leadership behaviours of the dormitory administrators and their satisfaction with the dormitory services was examined through different variables by referring to the opinions of the students staying in the dormitory. The quantitative research method and relation-seeking research model were used in the research. By using the purposive sampling method, data were collected by survey method in the sample of higher education student dormitory belonging to a private foundation. The obtained data were analyzed by using the SPPS program in the computer environment, the distribution of the answers given by the participants, Mann Whitney U test with their arithmetic averages and standard deviations, and the Kruskal-Wallis Test, which is one of the non-parametric tests, and correlation analysis. As a result of the research, according to personal variables, no significant difference was found predominantly in the servant leadership behaviours of the managers and their satisfaction with the dormitory; It has been determined that there is a strong, positive and significant relationship between the servant leadership behaviors displayed by the higher education dormitory administrators and the satisfaction with the dormitory.
