İslam Düşüncesinin Klasik Döneminde Kimyevi Bilimsel Araştırma Modeli’nin Câbir Bin Hayyân’ın Elkimya Teorileri Üzerinden Tartışılması

Abstract

Elkimyanın en önemli temsilcilerinden Ebû Mûsâ Câbir b. ?ayyân (ö. 200/815), evrenin oluşumuna ve yapısına dair getirdiği açıklamaları büyük ölçüde Aristoteles’in dört unsur kuramı ve Galen’in hıltlar kuramı üzerine bina etmiştir. Bununla birlikte Câbir, geliştirdiği mîzân kuramı ile duyulur niteliklerin ölçüsel hesabına bağlı bir açıklama modeli sunmuş ve az sayıda da olsa bilinen bazı temsilcileri olan bu modeli bir düzen içerisine sokarak felsefe-bilim tarihine bu bağlamda katkıda bulunmuştur. Herhangi bir disiplinin ne olduğunun tanımlanmasında, bilimsel olma iddialarının tartışılmasında; o disiplinin bilimsel açıklama modeli elde etme çabaları belirleyici özelliktedir. Bu çalışmada, Lakatos’un bilimsel araştırma programı kavramının metodolojisiyle ortaya koyduğu temel ilkeler üzerinden; Câbir’in klasik dönem elkimya geleneğindeki dört doğa-dört unsur, dönüşüm (transmutasyon), mîzan ve cıva-kükürt kuramları birer araştırma programı olarak değerlendirilebilir mi, kuramlara ait hangi öğeler katı çekirdeklere, hangileri koruyucu kuşaklara dahil edilebilir, bu kuramlar ilerlemeci kalabilmişler midir, kalabilmişlerse neden kalabildikleri, kalamamışlarsa neden kalamadıkları gibi soruların cevapları elkimya geleneğindeki kuramlara ait temel tespit ve kavramlar üzerinden araştırılacak ve Câbir’in elkimya kuramlarına ait temel düşüncelerini içeren ilgili metinler ve Kitâbu İhrâcu mâ fi’l-Kuvve ile’l-Fi’l ve Kitabu’s-Seb’în isimli eserleri üzerinden incelenecektir.

One of the most important representatives of alchemy, Abu Musa Jabir ibn ?ayyan (d. 200/815) based his explanations on the formation and structure of the universe largely on Aristotle's theory of four elements and Galen's theory of hilts. However, with the mizan theory he developed, Jâbir presented an explanation model based on the metrical calculation of sensible qualities and contributed to the history of philosophy-science in this context by putting this model, which has some known representatives, albeit a small number, into an order. In defining what a discipline is, in discussing its claims to be scientific; the efforts of that discipline to obtain a scientific explanation model are decisive. In this study, based on the basic principles laid down by Imre Lakatos' methodology of the scientific research program concept; can the four nature-four elements, transformation (transmutation), balance and sülfür-mercury theories in Câbir's classical period alchemy tradition be considered as a research program, which elements of the theories can be included in hard cores and which in protective belts, have these theories remained progressive? The answers to the questions such as why they could stay if they could, why they could not, will be searched through the basic determinations and concepts of the theories in the tradition of chemistry and the relevant texts containing the basic thoughts of Câbir's alchemy theories and his works named Kitâbu İhrâcu mâ fi'l-Kuvve ile'l-Fi'l and Kitabu's-Seb'în will be examined.
