Uluslararası terörizm bağlamında El Kaide örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışmada terörizmle bağlantılı kavramlar çerçevesinde oluşan geniş literatür taranarak El Kaide örgütü uluslararası terörizm perspektifinden ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde uluslararası terörizm olgusunun kavramsal çerçevesi çizilerek genel terör ve terörizm faaliyetleri ile ilişkisi izah edilerek, devlet terörizmi, devlet destekli terörizm, inanç temelli terörizm ve uluslararası terörizm kavramlarının benzer ve farklı yönleri ortaya konmuş ve böylece çalışmanın teorik arka planı izah edilmiştir. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde El Kaide örgütünün tarihsel kökeni, kuruluş süreci, amaçları ve eylemlerinden örnekler aktarılarak örgütün uluslararası terörizmle ilişkisi ve uluslararası terörizm parametreleri karşısındaki konumu tartışılmıştır. Çalışmanın üçüncü ve son bölümünde ise inanç temelli uluslararası terörizm faaliyetleri ve El Kaide örgütünün benzeri yahut devamı örgütler karşılaştırmalı bir şekilde açıklanarak terörizm olgusunun küresel sistem ve devletler üzerinde bıraktığı etki ele alınmıştır. Netice olarak çalışma El Kaide örgütünün neden uluslararası terörizm bağlamında incelenmesi gerektiğine ilişkin pozitif bir inceleme sunmakta ve uluslararası terörizm literatürüne El Kaide örneği ile katkı sunmayı amaçlamaktadır.

In this study, the extensive literature related to concepts about terrorism has been scanned, largely examined and, in this regard, the Al Qaeda organization has been discussed in the context of international terrorism. In the first chapter of the study, the conceptual framework of the phenomenon of international terrorism is elaborated and the place of international terrorism within the scope of general terrorism is explained. Furthermore, similar and different aspects of the concepts of state terrorism, state-sponsored terrorism, faith-based terrorism and international terrorism are compared, and thus the theoretical background of the study is conceptualised. In the second chapter of the study, the historical origin, establishment process, aims and actions of the Al Qaeda organization are explained. Moreover, the relationship of the organization with the concept of international terrorism and its nature in the light of international terrorism parameters are discussed. In the third chapter of the study, the relationship between faith-based international terrorism activities and organizations similar to or successors of Al Qaeda is explained comparatively, and, therefore, the effect of terrorism on the global system and states is discussed. As a result, the study presents an in-depth review of why Al Qaeda organization should be examined in the context of international terrorism and thus, aims to contribute to the international terrorism literature with the example of Al Qaeda.
