İbn Sina'nın doğa felsefesinde dört unsur

Abstract

Bu yüksek lisans tezinde, İbn Sînâ'nın doğa felsefesi külliyatındaki üçüncü kitabı olan Oluş ve Bozuluş adlı eserinde dört unsur meselesini nasıl ele aldığı araştırma konusu yapılmaktadır. Tezin ilk bölümünde evrenin ortaya çıkışı ve arkhe problemiyle ilgili ilk çağ filozoflarının savunduğu görüşlere kısaca değinilmektedir. Tezin ikinci bölümünde, İbn Sînâ'nın kendi dört unsur teorisini savunmadan önce dikkate aldığı karşıt grupların argümanları, İbn Sînâ'nın gözünden ayrıntılı bir şekilde tahlil edilmektedir. Tezin üçüncü bölümünde, unsurlar ve oluş-bozuluş problemine kısaca giriş yapıldıktan sonra İbn Sînâ açısından oluş-bozuluş ve dönüşüm arasındaki farklara değinilmektedir. Fark belirginleştirildikten sonra, oluş-bozuluş probleminin karışım ve büyüme açısından tahlili yapılmaktadır. Böylelikle nitelikler ve dört unsur teorisi inşa edilmeden önce teorinin, dönüşüm, karışım ve büyüme teorilerinden ayrışan yönleri belirginleştirilmektedir. Daha sonra, İbn Sînâ'nın dört unsur ve bunların niteliklerine dair görüşlerine değinilmektedir. Ardından dört unsur teorisine dair getirilen dört eleştiri ve İbn Sînâ'nın bu eleştirilere yönelik cevapları dikkate alınmaktadır. Unsurların birbirlerine dönüşümü ve semâvî cisimlerin unsurlara etkisi konularına da değinildikten sonra, çalışma sonuçlandırılmaktadır.

This master's thesis examines how Ibn S?n? treats the issue of the four elements in his al-Kawn wa-l-fas?d (Generation and Corruption), the third book in his philosophy of nature collection. It is divided into three parts: (1) a brief mention of how the early philosophers viewed the emergence of the universe and the arche problem; (2) a detailed analysis of Ibn S?n?'s presentation of the arguments against, and his defense of, his theory; (3) a brief introduction to the elements and generation-corruption problem, followed by a discussion of the differences between his views on that problem and transformation. After the difference is identified, the problem is then analyzed in terms of mixture and growth. Thus, before constructing the qualities and the four-elements theory, those of its aspects that differ from the theories of transformation, mixing, and growth are distinguished; his views on the four elements and their qualities are introduced, four criticisms of his theory are considered, and his responses to them are noted. The study concludes by mentioning the issues associated with the elements' transformation into each other and the effect of heavenly bodies upon them.
