Nevzat Kösoğlu'nun Türk milliyetçiliği anlayışı

Abstract

Bu tezin amacı Türk milliyetçiliği ideolojisinin ve ülkemizde Türk-İslam anlayışı çerçevesinde şekillenen milliyetçi düşünce geleneğinin son dönemdeki önemli temsilcilerinden biri olan, yapmış olduğu kültür çözümlemeleri ile Türk modernleşmesi ve batılılaşma süreci üzerine son derecede açıklayıcı tespitlerde bulunan Nevzat Kösoğlu'nun Türk milliyetçiliği anlayışının incelenmesi; düşünürün milli kültür, milli kimlik, medeniyet, çağdaşlaşma ve aydın sorunu üzerine görüşlerinin ve anılan konulardaki genel yaklaşım tarzının bütünsel bir bakış açısı ile ortaya konulmasıdır. Bu tez çalışmasında kullanılan yöntem literatür taramasına dayalı tarama/değerlendirme yöntemidir. İlk olarak millet, milliyetçilik kavramları ve Osmanlı modernleşme süreci ile ilgili kitaplar, makaleler, tezler ve diğer eserler incelenmiş; tez konusu ile ilgili olacak şekilde bir anlam bütünlüğü gözetilerek bu kaynaklardan yararlanılmaya çalışılmıştır. Tezin özünü oluşturan, çeşitli başlıklar altında Nevzat Kösoğlu'nun milliyetçilik anlayışının incelendiği bölümün hazırlanmasında ise başta yazarın kendi kitapları olmak üzere, eserlerinde atıfta bulunduğu düşünürlerin kitaplarından ve Kösoğlu hakkında yazılmış olan eserlerden yararlanılmıştır. Kösoğlu'nun milliyetçilik olgusunu sosyolojik bağlamda bir kültür meselesi olarak kabul etmiş olduğu ve Ziya Gökalp tarafından kavramsallaştırılan kültür milliyetçiliği anlayışının önemli temsilcilerinden biri olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. Milliyetçilik kuramları açısından ise Kösoğlu'nun milliyetçilik anlayışının milletleri ortaya çıkaran tarihsel sürekliliklere ve milletlerin tarihsel yönüne vurgu yapan, Anthony D.Smith'in benimsemiş olduğu etno-sembolcü yaklaşım ile örtüştüğü anlaşılmaktadır.

The aim of this thesis is to examine the nationalism conception of Nevzat Kosoglu who is recently one of the most important representatives of the tradition of nationalist ideas and Turkish nationalist ideology embodied in the framework of Turkish-Islamic perspective in our country and who makes widely accurate observations on Turkish modernization and westernization process via his cultural analysis, to present the views of the philosopher, in a holistic perspective, about the issues of national culture, national identity, civilization, modernization and intellectuals and the overall approach on these topics related. The method used in this study is the screening/evaluation method based on the literature screening. Firstly the nation and nationalism concepts and the books, articles and the theses related to Ottoman modernization process have been examined and it has been tried to take advantage of these sources considering the content integrity to be related to the thesis topic. It has been tried to make use of the books, principally his own, of the thinkers that the author refers in his works and of the works written about Kosoglu in the preparation of the section in which the concept of nationalism of Nevzat Kosoglu has been examined under various titles. It is understood that Kosoglu sees the nationalism concept as a cultural issue in the sociological context and that he is one of the most important representatives of the cultural nationalism concept conceptualized by Ziya Gokalp. In terms of nationalism theories, it is clearly seen that nationalism concept of Kosoglu corresponds to ethno-symbolic approach adopted by Anthony D.Smith, which is emphasizing on the historical continuity revealing the nations and on the historical aspects of the nations.
