Özet

According to social security institution data, ninety thousand work accidents have occurred in facilities providing human health services in Turkey in the last ten years. Risk assessment methods are selected and applied to prevent material and moral damages resulting from these accidents. Risk assessment policies to prevent employee injuries and illnesses positively affect productivity, competitiveness, and reputation, as well as contribute to overall cost savings. Since many different risk assessment methods can be used in facilities providing human health services, choosing the appropriate method for the facility will increase the effectiveness of the measures to be taken to prevent accidents. Therefore, it is important to choose the right risk assessment approach. This article presents an approach to risk assessment method selection using the intuitionistic fuzzy gray relational analysis method to determine the correct and effective risk assessment method in healthcare facilities. This approach will prevent uncertainties that may arise during risk assessment and prevent incorrect methodology selection. Within the scope of this study, when the literature review and decision makers opinions were evaluated together, Failure Mode Effective Analysis (FMEA), Fine Kinney, Hazard ve Operability Analysis (HAZOP), and L Matrix risk analysis methods, which are widely used for the analysis of risks in healthcare facilities and determined by decision makers, were used. These four effective methods in risk assessment were analyzed based on three decision makers opinions using six criteria, and it was revealed that the most effective method that can be used in facilities providing human health services is FMEA. It has been concluded that the use of this method will benefit the health sector in assessing the risks that require precautions.
