Bulgaristan ve Avrupa Birliği: Üyelik öncesi ve sonrası bir irdeleme

Abstract

Eksikleriyle birlikte dünyanın en etkili siyasi ve ekonomik entegrasyon modellerinin başında gösterilen Avrupa Birliği (AB), 2007 yılında Bulgaristan'ı da dahil ederek üye kapsamını stratejik bir kazanım olarak Balkanlardan Karadeniz'e kadar genişletmiştir.Bu araştırma, üyeliğin Bulgaristan tarafına odaklanmakta; bu çerçevede Bulgaristan'ın AB entegrasyon sürecinin öncesi ve sonrasını birlikte inceleyerek, entegrasyon beklentilerinin ve gerçekleşenlerin belirlenmesini amaçlamaktadır. Tezin başlıca araştırma sorusu şudur: ''Bulgaristan, AB üyeliği öncesi ve sonrası karşılaştırmalarında, kar zarar dengesi açısından nerede durmaktadır?'' AB entegrasyon teorileri üzerinde sistematikleştirilen tez, birincil ve ikincil kaynakların yanı sıra özgün olarak yapılandırılmış anket çalışmalarından da yararlanmaktadır. Bu çalışma, son kertede, kimi sapmalara ve eleştirilere rağmen, AB üyeliğinin Bulgaristan'a daha ziyade fayda getirdiğini savunmaktadır.

The European Union (EU), which is shown as one of the most effective political and economic integration models in the world with its deficiencies, expanded its membership scope from the Balkans to the Black Sea as a strategic gain by including Bulgaria in 2007. This research focuses on the effects of EU Membership on Bulgaria. In this context, it aims to determine the expectations and materialization of integration by examining the pre and post EU integration process of Bulgaria. The main research question of the thesis is'' Where does Bulgaria stand in terms of profit-loss analysis in comparison to pre and post EU Membership?''. The thesis, which is systematized with EU integration theories, utilizes the primary and secondary sources as well as the uniquely made questionnaire studies.In the last case, despite some deviations and criticisms this study claims that EU membership brings benefits to Bulgaria more than harm.
