Burnout, fear of Covid, depression, occupational satisfaction levels and related factors in healthcare professionals in the COVID-19 pandemic

Özet

Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the levels of burnout, professional satisfaction, depression, anxiety, fear of Covid-19 and related factors during the pandemic process. Materials and Methods: This study, in cross-sectional and descriptive design, includes all healthcare professionals who are actively working during the Covid-19 pandemic process and volunteering to research. Due to pandemic measures, it was realized with the participation of 371 healthcare workers in electronic environment. Sociodemographic information form, Satisfaction Scale, Maslach Burnout Scale, Phq-4 Patient Health Questionnaire, Covid-19 Fear Scale were used. Results: 73.6% of the participants were working in a state hospital, and 43.2% were working directly with Covid-19 patients. According to the Maslach Depersonalization, Covid-Fear, PHQ Anxiety and Depression scales, the female group mean was significantly different and greater than the male group average. In Emotional Exhaustion, PHQ total and Depression scales, the average of the Single group was found to be significantly higher than the Married group. On the Covid Fear and PHQ scales, the group average of those who said I live with my parents or my spouse / spouse and children was significantly higher than those who lived alone. Conclusion: During the pandemic period, it is important to make arrangements in working conditions in a way to increase job satisfaction and reduce burnout in healthcare workers, to monitor employees in high-risk units more closely and to provide necessary psychological support.
