İGOR STRAVİNSKİ’NİN BAHAR AYİNİ İÇİN TASLAKLARINDA YER ALAN HALK ŞARKILARI

Abstract

Bu araştırma 20. yüzyıl müziğinin en önemli örneklerinden biri olan Bahar Ayini’nde kullanılan halk müziği materyalini incelemeye odaklanır. Stravinski’nin daha önceki iki önemli bale müziği olan Ateşkuşu ve Petruşka’da halk şarkılarından alıntılar yaptığı bilinmektedir. Bahar Ayini bu tekniğin bir devamıdır. Bestecinin günümüze ulaşan el yazması Taslaklar’ı eserdeki halk müziği materyalini tespit etmede tek kaynaktır. Araştırma Taslaklar’daki halk müziği materyalini incelemeyi, kullanılan halk şarkılarının kaynaklarını tespit etmeyi, bunları gruplandırmayı ve eserdeki işleniş biçimini ortaya çıkarmayı amaçlar. Halk şarkılarının kaynaklarını tespit edebilmek için bestecinin önceki eserlerinden beri faydalandığı Rus halk şarkısı antolojileri incelenmiş; Taslaklar’dan çekilen materyaller incelenen 9 antolojideki toplam 2202 şarkıyla karşılaştırılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda eserdeki halk müziği materyalinin üç gruba ayrılabileceği görülmüştür. Bunlar doğrudan alıntı olan, kaynakları belli halk şarkıları; kaynakları bilinmeyen modal ezgiler ve Taslaklar dışında kalan ancak eserde kullanılan halk şarkılarıdır. Bestecinin eserin pagan dönem temalı senaryosu için müzikal referanslarını oluştururken tamamıyla halk müziğine yöneldiği, alıntı ezgileri özgürce işleyerek soyutladığı görülmüştür. Kendi üretimi olan ezgileri ise dar melodik alanlara sığdırmış, basit tetrakordal yapılara yönelmiş ve halk şarkılarındaki tekrar öğesini öne çıkartmıştır.

This research focuses on examining the folk music material used in the The Rite of Spring which is one of the most important examples of 20th century music. It is known that Stravinsky made borrowings from folk songs in his two important earlier ballet music: Firebird and Petrushka. The Rite of Spring is a continuation of this technique. The composer's manuscript Sketches which have survived to the present day, is the only source for determining the folk music material in the work. Research aims to examine the folk music material in the Sketches, to identify the sources of the folk songs used, to group them and to reveal the way they are processed in the work. In order to determine the sources of folk songs, Russian folk song anthologies that the composer has used since his previous works were examined; The materials taken from the Sketches was compared with a total of 2202 songs in 9 anthologies that were examined. As a result of the research, it was seen that the folk music material in the work can be divided into three groups: folk songs that are directly borrowed and whose sources are known; modal melodies that are from unknown sources and folk songs that except from Sketches but used in the work. In the result: it has been observed that while creating the musical references for the pagan-themed scenario of the work, the composer completely focused on folk music and stylized the borrowed melodies by freely processing them. In the melodies of his own creation, the composer fits them into narrow melodic ranges, tends the simple tetrachordic structures and emphasizes the repetition element in folk songs.
