Abstract

Tezin amacı George Santayana estetiğinde güzellik kavramının doğasını incelemektir. Bu inceleme, Santayana'nın estetik düşüncelerinin değerler alanıyla bağlantılı olduğu varsayımı üzerinden gerçekleştirilmiştir. Tezin kapsamı, Santayana'nın genel felsefi düşüncelerini de içerir. Santayana, natüralist bir filozoftur. Bu yöndeki düşünceleri estetik görüşlerini etkiler. Bu yüzden aralarındaki bağlantı işaret edilmiştir. Aim of the thesis, examine into George Santayana's aesthetic thoughts. For this purpose, it has been viewed in his aesthetic thoughts beauty concept. This review is based on the assumption that Santayana's aesthetic considerations are related to the field of values. The scope of thesis includes the general philosophical ideas of Santayana. Because he is a naturalist philosopher, his thoughts in this direction affect his aesthetic views. Therefore the connection between them is pointed out. The method used to point out this connection is primarily to address its place in the history of philosophy. Then the aesthetic views were examined. The hypothesis of the thesis is that his aesthetic views stem form the values field. This field should be considered together with concepts shape his aesthetic views. As a result, this hypothesis is emphasized in the conclusion section of the thesis.
