Büyük Selçuklular coğrafyasında merasim, âdet ve ritüeller

Abstract

Tarihimizin önemli bir dönemini kapsayan Büyük Selçuklular Devleti'ne ilişkin çeşitli çalışmalar yapılmış; ancak bu çalışmalar daha ziyade devletin siyasi ve askeri vaziyetine ışık tutmuştur. Toplum yapısına, mevcut geleneklere, sosyal alışkanlıklara yönelik çalışmalar ise sınırlı kalmıştır. Büyük Selçuklular Devleti, İslâmiyet'ten önceki Türk âdet ve geleneklerini muhafaza ettiği gibi bu gelenekleri, gelmiş olduğu coğrafyada mevcut olan çeşitli âdet ve geleneklerle başarılı bir şekilde birleştirmiştir. Bu şekilde, Büyük Selçuklular coğrafyasında eski Türk adetleri ile İran ve İslâm Medeniyetlerinin çeşitli gelenekleri beraber vücut bulmuştur. Bu sentez, Selçuklular dönemini şekillendirdiği gibi; sonraki dönemlerde söz konusu coğrafyanın kültür varlığına ve medeniyetine çok önemli katkılarda bulunmuştur. Bu çalışmada, öncelikle Selçuklu kültürünü besleyen kaynaklar ile devletin sosyal ve kültürel yapısı incelenmiş, ortaya çıkan etkileşim ve değişimler değerlendirilmiş, bu dönemde gerek yöneticiler gerekse halk düzeyindeki çeşitli merasim, âdet ve ritüellerin tespitiyle bunların kökenleri irdelenmiştir. Böylece, dönemin toplum hayatı ve kültür anlayışına yönelik bilgi edinilmesine ve günümüzde dahi örnekleri görülen bazı âdet ve geleneklerin Selçuklulara ve ötesine kadar uzanan kökenlerinin tespitine çalışılmıştır.

Various studies have been carried out on the Great Seljuk Empire, which covers an important period of our history; however, these studies shed light on the political and military situation of the state. Studies on the structure of society, existing traditions and social habits have been limited. The Great Seljuk Empire not only preserved the pre-Islamic Turkish customs and traditions, but also successfully combined these traditions with various customs and traditions existing in the geography it came from. In this way, Old Turkish customs and various traditions of Iranian and Islamic Civilizations came into being together in the Great Seljuk geography. As this synthesis shaped the Seljuk period; in the following periods, it made very important contributions to the cultural existence and civilization of the geography in question. In this study, first of all, the sources that feed the Seljuk culture and the social and cultural structure of the state were examined, the resulting interaction and changes were evaluated, and the determination of various ceremonies, customs and rituals at the level of both the administrators and the public in this period and their origins were examined. Thus, it has been tried to obtain information about the social life and cultural understanding of the period and to determine the origins of some customs and traditions, examples of which are seen even today, extending to the Seljuks and beyond.
