Sigara bıraktırma polikliniğine başvuran hastalarda COVID-19 fobisi düzeyi ve sigara bıraktırma polikliniğine başvuru sayısı üzerine etkisi

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmada COVID-19 pandemisi döneminde sigara bıraktırma polikliniğine başvuran hastalarda COVID-19 korkusu düzeyi ve korkuyu etkileyen faktörler araştırılacaktır. Aynı zamanda pandemi öncesi ve sonrası başvuran hasta sayısı ve özellikleri karşılaştırılacaktır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Sigara Bıraktırma Polikliniği'ne Şubat-Mayıs 2021 tarihleri arasında başvuran 464 hasta araştırmaya dahil edilmiştir. Fagerström nikotin bağımlılık testi(FNBT) , depresyon, anksiyete, stres ölçeği-21(DASÖ-21) ve koronavirüs-19 fobisi ölçekleri (C19P-S) uygulanmış olan hastaların sosyodemografik özellikleri incelendi. Pandemi öncesi ve sonrası polikliniğimize başvuran hasta sayıları ve hasta bilgileri hastane sisteminden geriye dönük tarandı. Mevcut veriler ile sigara polikliniğine başvuran hastalarda COVID-19 korkusu düzeyi, başvuru sayılarındaki ve hasta özelliklerindeki değişim ile bunları etkileyen faktörlere dair veriler elde edilmiş statistical package for social sciences version 18.0 (SPSS 18) programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular: Çalışmaya 464 hasta dâhil edildi. Çalışmaya katılan hastaların %35,6'i kadın, %64,4'ü erkektir. Yaş ortalamaları 38,18±11,35 olarak bulundu. Çalışmamıza katılan hastaların %8,4'ü COVID-19 geçirmiştir. Katılımcıların %8,4 'ünün en az bir yakını COVID19 nedeniyle vefat etmiştir. Korona virüs-19 fobisi ölçeği puan ortalaması 45,20±15,97, Fagerström Nikotin Bağımlılık Testi puanı ortalaması 6,36±2,43 ve DASÖ-21 toplam puan ortalaması 16,39±12,99 olarak bulunmuştur. Çalışmamızda COVID-19 korkusu düzeyi arttıkça depresyon, ansiyete ve stres düzeyleri de anlamlı şekilde artmaktadır(p<0,01). Kadınların COVID-19 korkusu düzeyi erkeklere göre anlamlı şekilde yüksek bulunmuştur(p<0,05). Çalışan hastaların COVID-19 korkusu çalışmayanlara göre anlamlı şekilde fazladır(p<0,05). COVID-19 pandemisi döneminde sigara bırakma polikliniğimize başvuranların yaş ortalaması anlamlı olarak azalmıştır(p<0,001). COVID-19 pandemisi döneminde başvuran erkek hasta sayısı COVID öncesi döneme kıyasla anlamlı şekilde artmıştır(p:<0,05) Sonuç: Çalışmamıza katılan kadın hastalarda COVID-19 korkusunun erkeklere göre daha fazla olduğu, COVID-19 korkusunun depresyon, stres ve anksiyeteyi anlamlı şekilde arttırdığı, genç yaş grubunda COVID-19 korkusunun daha düşük olduğu ve pandemi döneminde sigara bıraktırma polikliniğine başvuranların yaş ortalamasının anlamlı şekilde düştüğü ve erkeklerin pandemi öncesine göre sigara bıraktırma polikliniğine daha fazla başvurduğu sonucuna ulaştık.

Objective: In this study, the COVID-19 fear level in patients who applied to the Smoking Cessation Polyclinic during the COVID-19 pandemic period and the factors affecting the fear will be researched. Concurrently, the number of patients who applied before and after the pandemic and their characteristics will be compared. Material and Method: 464 patients who applied to the Smoking Cessation Polyclinic between February and May 2021 were included in the research. The sociodemographic characteristics of the patients on whom Fagerström Nicotine Dependence Test (FNBT), Depression, Anxiety, Stress Scale-21 (DASÖ-21) and Coronavirus-19 Phobia Scales (Cl9P-S) had been applied were examined. The number of patients who applied to our polyclinic before and after the pandemic and patient information were retrospectively scanned in the hospital system. With the available data, the data on the COVID-19 fear level, the change in the number of applications and patient characteristics and factors affecting them were obtained from the patients who applied to Smoking Cessation Polyclinic. They were analysed by using statistical package for social sciences version 18.0 (SPSS 18) program. Findings: 464 patients were included in the study. 35,6% of the patients participating in the study were female and 64,4% of them were male. The average age was 38,18±11,35. 8,4% of the patients participating in our study had COVID-19. At least one relative of 8,4% of the participants died due to COVID 19. It came out that the average score of the Coronavirus-19 phobia scale was 45,20±15,97, the average score of the Fagerström Nicotine Dependence Test was 6.36±2.43 and DASO-21 total average score was 16.39±12.99. As the fear of COVID-19 increases, depression, anxiety and stress levels increase significantly (p?0.01). The COVID-19 fear level of women was found to be significantly higher than men (p?0.05). The COVID-19 fear level of working patients is significantly higher than non-working patients (p?0.05). The average age of those who applied to our Smoking Cessation Polyclinic after the COVID-19 pandemic has decreased significantly (p?0.001). The number of male patients admitted after the COVID-19 pandemic has increased significantly compared to the pre-COVID period (p?0.05). Conclusion: We concluded that fear of COVID-19 was higher in female patients who participated in our study compared to men, fear of COVID-19 increased depression, stress and anxiety significantly, fear of COVID-19 was lower in the younger age group,the average age of those who applied to the Smoking Cessation Polyclinic after the pandemic decreased significantly and men applied to the Smoking Cessation Polyclinic more than before the pandemic.
