Mehmed Hâlis b. Ahmed Tosyevî'nin Kıstâsu'd-Devrân ve Mir'âtü'l-Cenân fî Muhâverati'l-İnsân ma'a Ecnâsi'l-Hayvân Adlı Eseri (İnceleme-Metin)

Abstract

Bu çalışmada temel olarak 19. yy müelliflerinden Mehmed Hâlis b. Ahmed b. İsmâil Tosyevî (ö.1828 sonrası)'ye aidiyeti tespit edilen Kıstâsu'd-Devrân ve Mir'âtü'l-Cenân fî Muhâverati'l-İnsân ma'a Ecnâsi'l-Hayvân adlı tercüme eserin neşir ve incelemesine yer verilmiştir. Mehmed Hâlis b. Ahmed Tosyevî'nin bu metni, İslam bilimler ansiklopedisi olarak bilinen İhvânu's-Safâ Risaleleri'nin yirmi sekizincisi olan (Mine'l-cism?niyy?ti't?-t?ab?'iyy?ti f? keyfiyyeti tekv?ni'l-h?ayv?n?t) Hayvanlar Risalesi'ni kaynak alarak yazılmıştır. Bu risale, insan ve hayvanların diyaloglarından oluşan ve her iki tarafın birbirlerine karşı üstünlük iddiasıyla gelişen felsefî ve ahlâkî bir münâzaradan oluşmaktadır. Felsefî, ahlâkî ve dinî açılardan meseleleri düşündürücü biçimlerde ele alan, aklî ve naklî deliller ile de zımnen öğretici bir hüviyeti bulunan bu metin, içerisinde hayvanların yaşam biçimleri ve özellikleri başta olmak üzere insan ve cin topluluklarının tarihine dair bilgileri ve bu canlıların hayat merhalelerindeki hikmetleri de içermesi bakımından oldukça zengin bir içeriğe sahiptir. Bu risale, 16. yüzyılda Lâmi'î Çelebi tarafından da Şerefü'l-İnsân adı ile manzum-mensur karışık bir biçimde tercüme edilmiştir. Gerek Arapça kaynak metni gerekse Şerefü'l-İnsân'ı gördüğünü bizzat beyan eden Tosyevî, Lâmi'î Çelebi'nin tercüme yöntemini eleştirmiş, müellif metninde ise ehli sünnet dışı bazı meselelerin düzeltilmesi gerektiğini söylemiş, tercümesini bu doğrultuda oluşturarak izlediği yöntemler hakkında da bazı bilgiler vermiştir. Çalışmanın birincil amacı, mezkûr metnin mümkün mertebe bilimsel bir çeviri yazım metnini inşa etmek; daha sonra da eseri Osmanlı tercüme geleneği içerisinde konumlandırmaktır. Üç ana bölümden oluşan çalışmanın giriş bölümünde bu tercümeye kaynaklık eden İhvânu's-Safâ Risaleleri ve Lâmi'î'nin Şerefü'l-İnsân adlı tercümesi ana hatlarıyla tanıtılmıştır. Birinci bölümde, Tosyevî'nin müstensih kimliği de dikkate alınarak biyografisine yer verilmiş, yazmış olduğu eserler tanıtılıp Kıstâsu'd-Devrân ile ilgili genel bilgilere değinilmiştir. İkinci bölümde Mehmed Hâlis b. Ahmed Tosyevî'nin bir mütercim olarak metninde yapmış olduğu tasarrufları mikrodüzeyde mukayese örnekleriyle incelenerek tercümenin kaynak metinlerle ilişkisine değinilmeye çalışılmıştır. Üçüncü bölüm ise metnin transkripsiyonlu neşrini ihtivâ etmektedir.

This study mainly focuses on the critical edition and analysis of a translated work titled Kıst?s? al-Dawr?n wa Mir'?t al-Jan?n f? Muh?verati'l-Ins?n ma'a Ajn?si'l-Hayw?n, which was identified as belonging to Mehmed H?lis b. Ahmad b. Ism?'il Tosyaw? (d.after 1828), one of the 19th-century authors. This text by Mehmed H?lis b. Ah?mad Tosyev? is based on the Treatise on Animals (Mine'l-jism?niyy?ti't?- t?ab?'iyy?ti f? keyfiyyeti tekw?ni'l-h?ayv?n?t), the twenty-first of the Risalas of Ikhw?n al-Saf?, known as the encyclopedia of Islamic sciences. This treatise consists of a philosophical and ethical debate between humans and animals, in which each side claims superiority over the other. This text, which deals with philosophical, ethical, and religious issues in thought-provoking ways and is tacitly instructive with rational and divine proofs, has a wealthy content as it includes information about the lifestyles and characteristics of animals, the history of human and jinn communities, and the wisdom of the life stages of these creatures. This treatise was translated by Lâmi'î Çelebi in the 16th century under the title Şerefü'l-İnsân in a mixed verse and prose form. Tosyaw?, who personally declared that he had seen both the Arabic source text and Şerefü'l-İnsân, criticized Lâmi'î Çelebi's translation method, stated that some issues in the source text (Ihwân al-Safâ) that are outside the Ahl al-Sunnah should be corrected, and gave some information about the methods he followed by creating his translation in this direction. The study's primary aim is to construct an academic critical edition of the text mentioned above and then situate it within the Ottoman translation tradition. In the first part of the study, which consists of four main chapters, the Ikhw?n al- Saf?'s treatises and L?mi'?'s translation titled Şeref al-Ins?n are introduced in outline. In the second part, Tosyaw?'s biography is given by taking into account his identity as a copier (mustansih), his works are introduced, and a general review of Kıst?su'd-Dawr?n is given. In the third chapter, Mehmed H?lis b. Ah?mad Tosyaw?'s practices in his text as a translator are analyzed with examples of micro-level comparative analysis, and the relationship of the translation with the source texts is mentioned. The fourth chapter contains the critical edition of the text.
