Turizm gelişiminin sosyokültürel etkilerinin yerel halk tarafından algılanması: Marankiari Bajo örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Marankiari topluluğunda turizmin etkilerini, etkileri aynı adı taşıyan yerli topluluğun sakinlerinin ve yerleşimcilerinin bakış açısıyla analiz edilmektedir. Araştırmanın genel amacı, turizmin yerel topluluktaki yansımalarını anlamak ve yerel sakinlerin turizmin etkilerini olumlu mu yoksa olumsuz mu algıladıklarını analiz etmektir. Çalışma, 2022 yılında turizmin etkileri konusunda bölge sakinlerinin bakış açısını değerlendirmek için anket ve yapılandırılmış görüşmelerden oluşan hem nitel hem de nicel karma yöntemlere dayalı bir araştırmadır. Bu çalışmanın yaklaşımı vaka analizi türünde olup, tanımlayıcı araştırma tasarımına sahiptir. Aynı şekilde, danışılacak kişi sayısını seçmek için olasılıklı örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmış ve bunun sonucunda 150'si yerli yerleşimci ve 150'si kolonici olmak üzere toplam 300 kişiyle anket yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda Marankiari Bajo toplumunun turizmin olumlu ve olumsuz yönlerinin farkında olduğu ve turizmin yerel halka birçok fayda sağlamasına rağmen, bu faydaların her birinin olumsuz bir sonucu beraberinde getirdiği konusunda bir algılama olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Kalıcı olumsuz etkilerden kaçınmak ve köylülerin kültürel mirasının korunmasına yönelik sürdürülebilir yönetim stratejileri oluşturmak için bu araştırma bir temel oluşturmakta ve turizm gelişiminin olumsuz etkilerini azaltmak için öneriler sunmaktadır.

This study presents the first analysis of the effects of tourism in the community of Marankiari from the perspective of the residents and settlers of the native community of the same name. The general objective of this research is to know the socio-cultural consequences of tourism in the community and analyze whether the residents perceive them as positive or negative. This work applies a mixed qualitative methodology of surveys and structured interviews to evaluate the perspective of the residents on the effects of tourism in the year 2022. It has a case study approach and its research design is descriptive. As for the sampling methodlogy, probability sampling is used and a total of 300 people (150 native settlers and 150 colonists) were surveyed. We found that, in the community of Marankiari Bajo, the population distinguishes between the positive and negative aspects of tourism. Similarly, it has been found that the effects of tourism are dual, although it has brought many benefits to the population, each of these benefits brings with it a negative consequence, that is, they both go hand in hand and depend on each other. This study reveals positive and negative impacts of tourism as percieved by the local community and lays the foundation for future studies to avoid permanent negative impacts and generate sustainable management strategies for the conservation of the cultural heritage of the villagers.
