The thyroid and parathyroid glands are endocrine glands located in the neck that produce hormones that regulate various body functions. Disorders of these glands can lead to overproduction or underproduction of hormones, resulting in a variety of symptoms and health problems. Diagnosis of thyroid and parathyroid disorders usually involves blood tests to measure hormone levels, imaging studies and, in some cases, a biopsy. Treatment may include medication, surgery, or hormone replacement therapy. © 2023 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc. All rights reserved.
